Dermal Filler Removal with Hyalase

Hyalase injection for HA dermal filler removal, when you would like to reverse the effect of and remove filler due to undesired results, or a change of mind.

Dermal filler removal is where Hyalase is injected into Hyaluronic Acid (HA) dermal fillers to break up the bonds that hold the HA molecules together, once broken down, these molecules are naturally absorbed by the body with no adverse effects.

Why would I remove my filler?

There may be a number of reasons you may wish to have your filler reduced or removed. There may be overcorrection, uneven results, the development of lumps, an allergic reaction to the filler, don’t like the results, or simply a change of mind.

With HA fillers there is an additional reason, and that is over-hydration. HA exists in abundance in all our tissues because it is a naturally hydrating agent and so it provides volume, texture, and hydration to the tissues. When injected as a filler, it will naturally increase hydration to that area and filling. This is a good thing in most cases. However, there are some situations such as in the tear troughs where increased hydration can become an issue because drainage in that area is poor, occasionally resulting in increased puffiness. This need not be an issue however as the careful and precise placement of tiny amounts of Hyalase will reduce this puffiness (it is not necessary to remove the filler) and produce good results.

Benefits

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers can be dissolved with Hyalase injections.

Treatment guide

Pricing guide

This will depend on the size of the area and the volume of HA filler that needs to be treated. Most cases are small areas and may only require one or two treatments. A small area starts from around $150 - $250 per treatment.

Considerations

Is Hyaluronidase safe?

Similar to HA it too is a natural compound that exists in the body, making it a very safe product.

The main concerns with hyaluronidase are from removing too much HA filler when all you wanted was a reduction. This happens when too big a dose of Hylase is used by inexperienced injectors. Doses need to be very small and placed carefully and precisely.

How long will it take to see results?

In most cases, you will notice an immediate reduction, within minutes of injecting! The full result will be seen by the next morning.

Can you remove my dermal filler?

This will depend on what type of dermal filler you have.

Only the Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers can be dissolved, as HA is a natural compound that exists widely in our skin and tissues and there is a specific natural enzyme that will dissolve it. This enzyme is called hyaluronidase and is marketed under the brand name “Hylase”

All other fillers are synthetic and do not have a dissolving agent available. They cannot be dissolved, so it is important to be certain when you have these fillers injected into you that you will not want or need to reduce or remove them later.
