What is Involved?
A suitable numbing cream may be applied for 30–40 minutes before the procedure to ensure comfort. Lesions are then carefully removed using a fine hand-held surgical curette. The procedure is generally quick and well-tolerated.
Downtime
After removal, the treated area may bleed slightly for a few minutes. A protective dressing with petroleum jelly is usually applied for about a week until the area has healed. Most daily activities can be resumed immediately, but swimming or soaking in a bath should be avoided until the skin has fully healed.
